Spinon-holon binding in t-J model

چکیده

Using a phenomenological model, we discuss the consequences of spinon-holon binding in the Us1d slaveboson approach to t-J model in the weak-coupling limit. We find that spinon-holon binding produces a pseudogap normal state with a segmented Fermi surface and the superconducting state is formed by opening an “additional” d-wave gap on the segmented Fermi surface. The d-wave gap merges with the pseudogap smoothly as temperature T→0. The quasiparticles in the superconducting state are coupled to external electromagnetic field with a coupling constant of order xg/2 sx=hole concentrationd, where 0øgø1.

Nature of spin-charge separation in the t-J model

Quasiparticle properties are explored in an effective theory of the t-J model which includes two important components: spin-charge separation and unrenormalizable phase shift. We show that the phase shift effect indeed causes the system to be a non-Fermi liquid as conjectured by Anderson on general grounds. But this phase shift also drastically changes a conventional perception of quasiparticle...

Statistics of Holons and Spinons in the t-J Model

We study the statistics of holons and spinons in the 2-dimensional t-J model of highTc superconductors by applying the gauge theory of separation phenomena that we have developed recently. This study is motivated by the observation that, near the half filling, the spin degrees of freedom of the t-J model are correctly described by bosonic variables as in the slave-fermion representation, while,...

Mean-field description of the phase string effect in the t-J model

A mean-field treatment of the phase string effect in the t-J model is presented. Such a theory is able to unite the antiferromagnetic ~AF! phase at half-filling and the metallic phase at finite doping within a single theoretical framework. We find that the low-temperature occurrence of the AF long-range ordering ~AFLRO! at half-filling and superconducting condensation in the metallic phase are ...

Spin-charge gauge approach to metal-insulator crossover and transport properties in High-Tc cuprates

The spin-charge gauge approach to the metal-insulator crossover (MIC) and other anomalous transport properties in high-Tc cuprates is briefly reviewed. A U(1) field gauging the global charge symmetry and an SU(2) field gauging the global spin-rotational symmetry are introduced to study the two-dimensional t− J model in the limit t ≫ J . The MIC, as a clue to the understanding of the ‘pseudogap’...

5 M ay 1 99 8 U ( 1 ) × SU ( 2 ) Chern – Simons gauge

The Chern-Simons bosonization with U(1)× SU(2) gauge field is applied to the 2-D t− J model in the limit t ≫ J , to study the normal state properties of underdoped cuprate superconductors. We prove the existence of an upper bound on the partition function for holons in a spinon background, and we find the optimal spinon configuration saturating the upper bound on average – a coexisting flux pha...
